Dorothy E. Poston

Dorothy E Poston age 91, of Paola Kansas, passed away Saturday January 23, 2010 at her nephew"s home. Dorothy was born on May 17, 1918 in Odessa, Missouri to Clay C. Eagan and Jenny Marie Caldwell Eagan. She grew up and graduated from North East High School, Kansas City, MO. She became a wife homemaker and mother of two sons. She has lived in San Diego, Tucson, Horton Kansas, and Paola during her life, until failing health when she moved in with her nephew Dennis Downey in Louisburg. Dorothy enjoyed crochet, knitting, playing cards, sold Avon products was a member of the women"s auxiliary. She was a people person, and never met a stranger. She enjoyed her family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, one son Terry Clark, one brother Jim Eagan and five husbands. Survivors include her son Karl Hardwick of Castle Rock, CO, sister Joyce Downey of Louisburg, KS, 2 grandchildren Mark Hardwick of KC, MO., Jamie Haigh of Highland Ranch, CO, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and niece Karen Pippin, niece Teresa Young,nephew Dennis Downey, nephew Chad Eagan and several other nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a wonderful person that will be missed greatly by all. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
