Dorothy Ann Waite

Dorothy Ann Waite, age 82, of Louisburg, KS, died March 16, 2013 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Dorothy was born July 7, 1930 in Louisburg, KS, the Daughter of Marcus and Mary Josephine "Molly" Thomas Wells. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Herbert Waite on March 8, 1949 at Paola, KS. She graduated with the class of 1949 from Louisburg High School. She worked for the USD 416 as a baker, crossing guard, and was a bus driver for Blair"s Bus Service. She spent time as a caterer and worked several years as a custodian for the First National Bank in Louisburg. Dorothy was a member of the Louisburg United Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbor Association, Eastern Star and the Miami County Medical Center Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, one son, Steve Waite, one grandson, Shawn Weers, siblings, Charles Wells, Jim Wells, Harvey Wells, Hazel Byrd, Bill Wells, Mildred Coombs and Dora Cortner. Survivors include three sons, Mark Waite, Kansas City, MO; Mike Waite and wife Pam, Louisburg, KS; and Robert Waite and wife Donna, Bucyrus, KS; one daughter, Mary Jo and husband Arnold Weers, Louisburg, KS; sister Mary Miller, North Carolina; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Louisburg United Methodist Church.
