Doris R. Robbins

Doris R. (Bishop) Colbern - Robbins, age 84, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Friday, October 22, 2004, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. She was born August 7, 1920 at New Hampton, Missouri, the daughter of Floyd and Carrie Bell (Denny) Bishop. Doris was a lifelong Ottawa, Kansas resident. Doris graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1938, and attended business school at Avila College in Kansas City, Missouri. Doris was a restaurant manager. During the 1950's and 1960's, she and her husband owned and operated Colbern's Restaurant in Ottawa; managed the North American Hotel Restaurant in the mid 1960's; the Ottawa Country Club restaurant from the mid 1960's until the late 1970's, and worked at the Best Western Hotel as night desk manager from the late 1970's until retiring in the late 1980's. She was a member of the Tauy Baptist Church. In 1944 Doris was united in marriage with Charles Colbern at Lee's Summit, Missouri. They later divorced. In 1968 she married Lawrence
