Doris Mae Dehn, 91, of Quenemo, Kansas, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
Interment Central Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
Doris was born Saturday, April 15, 1933, in Burdick, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey Clyde and Leila Pearl (Keller) Hegle.
She grew up in Burdick, Kansas moving to the Williamsburg area as a teenager and has lived in her current home for sixty-eight years.
Doris graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1951.
She was united in marriage on May 3, 1951, on her parent’s farm near Quenemo, Kansas to Henry Louis Dehn. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2010.
Doris worked as a cook at Williamsburg School for twenty-four years and as a cook at Camp Chippewa for eighteen years.
She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
Doris enjoyed cooking, gardening, feeding the birds, spending time sitting outside, sharing biscuits and gravy with friends, and expressing her artistic skills making crafts and scrap booking. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Along with her husband Henry, she was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Leila and two sisters Velma Green and Phyllis Allen.
Survivors include four sons Robert Dehn (Marty) of Garnett, Kansas, Roger Dehn (Kathy) of Topeka, Kansas, Rick Dehn (Tammie) of Topeka, Kansas, and Randy Dehn (Tommie) of Ponca City Oklahoma; grandchildren Corey Dehn (Tricia), Erin LaRow (Steve), Kyle Dehn (Courtney), Tonya Roberts (Kenny), April Hall, Kenny Dehn (Gwen), Kristina Cavner, and Andrew Dehn; and great grandchildren Tyler, Kathryn, Reagan, Grant, Ty, Trace, Megan, Kenna, Jaclyn, Avery, Paityn, Norah, and Evelyn. Also surviving are step grandchildren Tara Jumet (Mike), Tanya Ewert (Adam), and Katrina Kichler; several step great grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren.
