Doris M. Pearson-Eilenstine, 96, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 17, 2017, at the mortuary. Interment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas. Doris was born Wednesday, October 27, 1920, in Franklin County, Kansas, the daughter of John and Margaret (Clyde) Miller. She was a lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1939. She was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church and the church organist for twenty-five years. Doris was united in marriage to Leroy Pearson December 28, 1939, in Princeton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1974. Doris married Clark Eilenstine March 4, 1976, in Rantoul, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Miller; daughters, Linda Pearson and Joyce Milroy; sisters, Ethel Baldwin and Marjory Miller; and brother, Homer Miller. Survivors include her three children, Judith Hauch of Oxford, Michigan, Dale Pearson and wife Patty of Ottawa, and Calvin Pearson and wife Mary Ann of Rantoul; seven grandchildren, Tim Pearson, Shelly Pearson, Craig Pearson, Phillip Pearson, Chris Schmoe, Lori Kniss and LeAnn Schueneman; nine great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Doris was a devoted homemaker and helped her first husband on their farm milking cows. She worked as a cook at Central Heights USD 288 for eight years, retiring in 1982. She sold Avon products for four years. Doris loved to cook and was famous for her pies and cookies. She spoiled her family and neighborhood children with cookies. She enjoyed square dancing, feeding birds and squirrels, was a 4-H leader, an avid WWE fan, and was the current president of the ORV residence council.
