Doris Reed, 72, Pomona, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her residence. She was the daughter of Fred and Anna (White) Bausch. She grew up and lived in the Hoyt area, graduating from Hoyt High School in 1953. She worked at the statehouse for the state of Kansas as a keyboard operator until 1973. On Feb., 10, 1973, she married Ray O. Reed in Pomona. She became a homemaker and moved to Pomona. He survives. She was a member of Pomona United Methodist Church, Pomona UMW, where she served as president for several years, Pomona Chapter No. 305 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron several years and was District Aide of the Grand Chapter and held several appointments, Night Crawlers camping club, a 50-year member of Oakland 616 Rebekah Lodge in Topeka, and a member of Power of the Past. Survivors also include a stepson, Norman Reed and his wife Sherry, Pomona; and three stepgrandchildren, Jenna, Owen and Amy. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the First United Methodist Church in Pomona 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2008. IN STATE: Mrs. Reed will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 Tuesday evening. CEMETERY: Woodlawn Cemetery. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials to Pomona United Methodist Church or Kansas State University Terry C.
