Doris Jeanne Foster was born August 21, 1930, at Michigan Valley, Kansas. She was the daughter of Newton Milton and Ida Ruth (Wilson) Ogle-Fuller. With the exception of about a year living in Denver, Colorado, in the mid 1940's, Doris was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, Kansas, until her death Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at the age of seventy-three years. She was a lifelong homemaker and farmer's wife. She was a member of Assembly of God Church, Ottawa. Doris was an outgoing, fun person to be around. She was always ready to visit and always had a cup of coffee, as she just loved coffee. She enjoyed playing Bingo every Tuesday night at the V.F.W. with her friends. Every Wednesday, she enjoyed going to the Ottawa Senior Center. She was an excellent seamstress and created many beautiful items for her family and friends. She was a big fan of John Wayne and enjoyed watching his westerns. She also liked to work jigsaw puzzles, play Solitaire and pick out walnuts. And, she liked to go fishing, especially for Bullheads. Most of all, Doris enjoyed spending time with her family. On June 6, 1951, Doris was united in marriage with Charles Delbert Foster at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death August 20, 1978. She is also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dorothy Fox, Dora Belle Burns, infant, Hazel L. Ogle; sister-in-law, Grace Martin; and brother-in-law, Bob Martin. She is survived by her son, Delbert Newton Foster and his wife, Darlene, of Ottawa; two daughters, Amanda Grace Lucas and her husband, Charles, of Ottawa, Janice Louise Brown and her husband, David, of Ottawa; four grandsons, Mike Foster, Donald Foster, Charles Lucas, Jr., David W. Brown, Jr.; three granddaughters, Tammy Bishop, Anita Marie Birzer, Laurie Warren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2003. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Keith Jones. IN STATE: Mrs. Foster will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 10:00 a.m. Friday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 6:30 to 7:30 Friday evening. CEMETERY: Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
