Doris J. Krueger

Doris J. Krueger, 87, of Lawrence, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar in Lawrence. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, March 5, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church. Family will meet with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Doris was born April 6, 1930, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Clifford and Noma Ina (Pascal) Strickland. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident, attending Ottawa schools. Doris was united in marriage to Christian R. “Chris” Krueger February 6, 1947 in Garnett. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clarence Strickland; sister, Noma McGuire; and son-in-law, Ray Poulin. Survivors include her three children, Robert Krueger and wife LaDean of Wellsville, Carolyn Gross of Overbrook, and Christie Poulin of Grandview, Missouri; sister, Betty Foltz of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Christopher Michael “Mike” Hughes and wife Jennifer of Blue Mound and Donna Krueger Arnaud and husband Jeff of Berryton; and great grandson, Raymond Arnaud of Berryton. Doris was a devoted homemaker and worked as a seamstress at H.D. Lee for 12 years until the company closed. Doris and her husband were longtime members of the Faith Lutheran Church.
