Doris Illene Lilly, age 93, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Village Plaza in Ottawa, KS. She was born on Wednesday, September 15, 1915, in Edgerton, KS. She was the daughter of Thomas Clayton and Emma Eunice (Weeks) Hamby. She was an Ottawa resident since 1917. Doris attended Ottawa schools. She was a homemaker. During World War II, while Ed was in the service, she was a machine operator at Warner Mfg. Co. in Ottawa She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ottawa. On Saturday, July 15, 1939, Doris was united in marriage with George Edward 'Ed' Lilly in Mound City, KS. They shared sixty-five years of marriage. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2005. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Lilly at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, where the family will meet with friends from 4:00 to 5:00 Sunday afternoon.
