Doris Brumett

Doris Brumett passed away on December 5, 2017 at her home in Ottawa, Kansas at the age of 83 of cancer. Doris was born on July 16, 1934 in Cuba, Missouri to Oscar Earl Ryerson and Mary Ann (Cannady) Ryerson. She had 3 brothers Earl Ryerson, Norman Ryerson, and Ralph Ryerson and 2 sisters Earline (Ryerson) Teel and Ethel (Ryerson) Price; all preceded her in death. Doris married Marion Earl Brumett on December 12, 1950 in Hardy, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1992. Doris and Marion had 9 children Roxane Brumett of Paola, Roger Brumett of Ottawa, Sharon Diaz (deceased), Richard Brumett (Sylvia) of Olathe, Janet Burgess (deceased), Brenda Chowning (James) of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Jane Hamic (Bill) of Olathe, Delbert Brumett of Ottawa, Betty Brumett of Richmond, KS, and adopted grandson Johnathon Shores Brumett of Ottawa. She has 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-great grandchild, and 1 adopted step-grandchild. Doris was a lifelong homemaker, a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She gave so much of herself to her family. She was so loved by her family and will be truly and soulfully missed.
