Doris Ann Mallicoat, age 81, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Doris was born April 22, 1936 in Downs, Kansas. She was the youngest of seven children born to Lee E. and Jessie (Riggs) Bell. Doris was married to Clarence "Dink" Mallicoat until 1982. They made their home in Louisburg, where they raised one daughter Crystal. Doris worked in retail sales at K-Mart for more than 30 years. She had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, and spending time at her cabin at Lake of the Ozarks. Doris and her partner of 36 years, Gary Donahue, had many good times together. They traveled throughout the United States to many places including Mt. Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Colorado, and Utah. Two of their most exciting experiences together were parasailing at Lake of the Ozarks and riding a helicopter over the Grand Canyon. Her church membership was with the Stilwell United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband "Dink", her daughter Crystal, two sisters Virginia Woods and Margie Phillips, and two brothers Gerold and Junior Bell. Her brother Bob Bell died March 3, 2018, which was one day after her death. She is survived by her companion Gary Donahue of Louisburg; her grandson Greg Pfannes and his wife Rachel of Shawnee; two great grandchildren Kaitlan and Colin Pfannes; her brother Jerold Bell of Paola; many other relatives and friends.
