Dr. Donnie Captain Webb, age 61, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Leavenworth VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas. He was born on Sunday, October 22, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of James and Mattie (Whitmore) Webb. He grew up in Arkansas and New York City. He was a resident of Topeka prior to moving to Ottawa, in Franklin County, Kansas in 2003. Donnie graduated from Scipio A. Jones High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He later achieved his Doctorate in Theology. He worked as a concrete finisher. Donnie served in the United States Army from December 13, 1968, to June 9, 1971. His tour of duty included Vietnam. On Wednesday, May 13, 2009, Donnie was united in marriage with Terry Carter in Ottawa, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is survived by his: Wife-Terry Webb of their home Daughter-Nicole Webb of Dallas, Texas; Daughter-LaKesha Webb-Collins and her husband, Steven, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Stepson-Darren Carter of Topeka, Kansas; Stepdaughter-Jacqueline Carter of Topeka, Kansas; Stepson-Norman Carter of Topeka, Kansas; Sister-Jammie Lee Charles of Little Rock, Arkansas; Sister-Peggy Johnson of Jacksonville, Arkansas; Sister-Delores Jones and her husband, Larry, of Sherwood, Arkansas; Sister-Janice Webb of Dallas, Texas; Sister-Sandra Vales and her husband, Lawrence, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; A total of sixteen grandchildren including: Alexandria Collins, Jasmine Burkhalter, Darius Burkhalter, Tra’Auna Anderson. Donnie had a special relationship with Tra’Auna. One gt.grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, Nathaniel Norwood, and friends He is preceded in death by his: Parents-James and Mattie Webb; and two sisters-Ann Norwood and Shirley Phillips. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. IN STATE: Dr. Webb will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Monday evening. CEMETERY: Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
