Donna P. Curry, 88, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Donna was born April 20, 1933, in LeLoup, Kansas, the daughter of Oliver Paul and Edna Ruth (Doughtery) Shannon. She was a long-time Ottawa resident. Donna graduated from Ottawa High School with the Class of 1951. As a teenager, Donna worked at Select Dairy, Avon representative, Albright’s, and drove for Head Start, all of Ottawa. She was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa. On August 24, 1950, Donna was united in marriage with Billie D. “Bill” Curry at Harrisonville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2017. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ruth Shannon and her eleven-year-old son, Robert Eugene Curry, son-in-law, Miles Floyd and mother and father-in-law, Lois and James Curry. She is survived by her 10 children, Richard (Ann) Curry of Harrah, Oklahoma, Kathryn Floyd of Ottawa, Steven (Carolyn) Curry of Lawrence, Kansas, Sally Matthew of LeRoy, Kansas, Marion Wellman of Topeka, Kansas, Don Curry of Baldwin City, Kansas, Rae (Tom) Gabriel of Platte City, Missouri, David (Angela) Curry of Pomona, Kansas, Shawn (Anita) Curry of Baldwin City, Kansas, and Jeff (Heather) Curry of Ottawa; sister, Jean Barnes of Wamego, Kansas; thirty-one grandchildren many great-grandchildren. Donna was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafting and painting. The family suggests memorial contributions to Church of the Nazarene c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
