Donna Mae (Montgomery) Yakle

Donna Mae (Montgomery) Yakle, 78, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013. Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Yakle at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas. Donna was born on Monday, August 20, 1934, in Richmond, Kansas. She was the daughter of John Lester and Eula Mae (Welton) Montgomery. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1953. On May 14, 1954 Donna was united in marriage with Robert D. Yakle in Ottawa. They later divorced. Donna lived most of her life in Ottawa and was employed by Mode O Day, HD Lee, Parmalee and McDonald’s. She was a member of North Baptist Church and had served as a Deaconess. She was a member of Wingert Oil Bowling Team in the 1970’s. Survivors include one daughter, Janet Louise Leach and husband Larry; grandson, Robert Paul Leach and wife Jody; granddaughter, Cassandra Leach and husband Kevin Fowler; great grandchildren, Bailey, Mikala, Alexander and Emma Leach, Chevy and Scarlet Fowler; step-grandchildren, Dillon and Tosha Leach; step-great-grandchildren, August and Rachel Weaver and Sophia Leach; sisters, Beth Hotaling and husband Jim, Linda Fletcher and husband Charles, and Sandy Moore and husband Jim; brother, Kenny Montgomery and wife Leota; sister-in-law, Edith Montgomery, and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eula Montgomery; three infant children, Gary, Nancy Jo, and Carol; brothers, Gail and infant Lester Montgomery and sister, Leona Adams.
