Donna Joan Rose

May 12, 1942 — July 5, 2023

Donna Joan (Roehl, Witham) Rose left this earth on July 5, 2023. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of 2022 but lived symptom-free and enjoyed her crafts, family and friends until the very end. Grandkids and her family were her greatest joy.

Donna was born in Wyoming to Dan and Katherine Roehl and was the oldest of five children. Donna lived most of her childhood in Ottawa, Kansas. She married James (Jim) Witham in 1961 and had three daughters: Brenda, Carol, and Janet. They lived on a farm in Centropolis, Kansas and she embraced the farm life. After Jim passed away, Donna married Harold Rose and they continued to live on the farm.

Donna moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1998 to be close to her daughter, Janet, and lots of grandkids. With the exception of a few years in Pratt, Kansas when she married Don Rose, she lived out the remainder of her life in her beloved house in Bartlesville.

Donna was an avid crafter. There wasn’t a craft she couldn’t do. Some of the talents she held were: cake decorating, knitting, crocheting, quilting, quilling, cross-stitching, painting, and bobbin lace. Donna belonged to several quilting and lacing groups and made many friends while doing the things she loved.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, husbands (Jim, Harold, Don) and her younger brother, Bob.

Those who are left to cherish her memories are her children Brenda Thornton, Carol (Kevin) Harrell, Janet (Ray) Dolsky, grandchildren Matthew (Andrea), Joshua (Karoline), Julie (Michael), Rachel, Hannah, Adam, Emily, Harmony, Tegan, Tylee, Evynn, Gavin, Drennan, Jaren, and great-grandchildren Cassie, Kaitlyn, and Mae. She will also be greatly missed by her siblings Daunita (Melvin) Drake, Joyce (Dale) Clowser, and Cyndi Roehl and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Comforting Hands Hospice in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for the wonderful care they provided during the last year. The family would also like to thank The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma for providing such wonderful care and a peaceful environment for Donna and the family during her last few days.
