Donald Thielan Godfrey

Donald Thielan Godfrey, age 75, of Richmond, Kan., died Thursday, February 26, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kan. He was the son of the late Warren Godfrey and the late Ruby (O`Rear) Godfrey. He has been a resident of Rural Richmond since 1960, moving there from Louisburg. He had moved to Louisburg from Amoret, Missouri, in the early 1940's. Donald graduated from Louisburg High School with the class of 1948. He was a lifelong self-employed farmer and stockman. On February 17, 1952, Donald was united in marriage with Charlotte U. Duncan at Louisburg, Kansas. She survives of their home. He is also survived by: Son-Dean Godfrey of Americus, Kan. Daughter-Darlene Springer of Richmond, Kan. Brother-Dr. Arthur Godfrey of Paola, Kan. Grandchild-Kristi Godfrey Grandchild-James Godfrey Grandchild-Justin Springer Numerous Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in Death by: Father-Warren H. Godfrey Mother-Ruby B. (O'Rear) Godfrey Sister-Barbara Falk SERVICES: Graveside services will be held at Princeton Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Rick Dunn IN STATE: Mr. Godfrey will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 4:00 p.m. Saturday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 3:30 to 4:30 Sunday afternoon. CEMETERY: Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Kansas. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions made payable, and sent direct, to Volunteer Fire Department of donor's choice.
