Donald Theodore Coleman, 93, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021, at North Point Skilled Nursing Home in Paola. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 15, 2021, at Antioch Cemetery, Spring Hill. Family will meet with friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the funeral home. Donald was born Thursday, February 24, 1927, in Spring Hill, Kansas, the son of James H. and Martha (Moser) Coleman. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. After World War II, he served in the motor pool in Italy. He worked on motor vehicles and drove for Colonel Patton. Donald was a brick layer and rock layer before working at the Sunflower Ordinance Plant in DeSoto, Kansas. After being laid off from there, he was employed by E. I. Dupont in Tecumsch, Kansas for 26 years. His hobby was farming until his retirement when he started quilting and fishing and spending time with family. He and his brother helped build the Antioch Church in the early 1950's. He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives Florence Evelyn Surbaugh Coleman in 1993, Zuida Carol Surbaugh Goodall Coleman in 1997, and Ruby Marie Corie Brewer Coleman in 2010; one great grandson; his brother James Vernon Coleman and his sister Catherine Adams. Survivors include three children Roseanne Brewer (Max) of Paola, Marilyn Brewer (David), and Ronnie Coleman (Lisa) of Somerset; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wellsville American Legion which can be sent c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary-Crematory, 305 North Pearl Street, Paola, KS 66071. Family and friends are encouraged to post their condolences and memories on Donald’s Tribute Wall.
