Donald Stevens, 62, Lawrence, died Monday Feb. 5, 2007, at Colmery-O'Neill Veterans Medical Center, Topeka. No services are planned at this time. He was born June 11, 1944, at Lawrence to Virgil Stevens and Elizabeth (Demaranville) Watts. He was a carpet and tile layer for many different companies. Donald served in the United Sates Navy from 1961 to 1965, during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mt. Oread #309 of Lawrence. Survivors include his mother; daughters, Deanne Pennington, Jasper, Mo.; Karla Moore, Chillicothe, Mo.; and Crystal, San Bernardino, Calif.; son, Michael Stevens, Osage City; sisters, Audrey Reed and Teresa D. Miller, both of Ottawa; and brother, Buck Watts, Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his father and his stepfather, Clayton Watts. SERVICES: No services are planned at this time. Mr. Stevens will be cremated.
