Donald Eugene Caswell, 89, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away at home on August 10, 2016. Don was born on September 27, 1926 in rural Spring Hill, Kansas, the son of Harry and Anna (Wernicke) Caswell. He was an Army veteran and served from 1944 to 1946. He returned to the United States and worked as a truck driver for 45 years. On June 23, 1962, Don married Lois M. Martin. This union blended two beautiful families together. Don and Lois had two daughters together. Don enjoyed raising cattle on the farm. After retiring in 1990, he continued his passion of raising cattle. Don was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Louisburg, American Legion and the VFW of Louisburg. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry E. and Anna E. Caswell, his siblings (infants Harry Caswell, Jr. and Elizabeth Caswell), Lilian Smith, Mildred Winnie, Clifford Caswell, and Roy Caswell; son-in-law Michael R. Bishop and granddaughter Danielle N. Burton-Lomax. Don is survived by Lois M. Caswell, wife of the home; sons and daughters, Karen S. Leonard of Belton, MO, David E. Caswell (Sandy) of Raymore, MO, Ralph (Gene) E. Minkler (Bonnie) of Belton, MO, James (Allen) A. Minkler (Wilma) of Richmond, KS, Sharon L. Bishop (Clay) of Louisburg, KS and Donna E. Burk (Clipton) of Louisburg, KS. He has 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He has numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
