Donal L. Beddo was born on Wednesday, June 6, 1956, in San Fernando Valley, California. He was the son of Donal C. and Delores J. (Hines) Beddo. Donnie grew up in Carson, California. When he was eighteen years of age, he moved to Kansas and lived in the Garnett, Richmond, and Princeton area, until his death on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at the age of fifty years. Donnie graduated from Carson (California) High School with the class of 1974. He was employed as a welder at Ottawa Truck for twenty-three years. He was a devoted member and Deacon of Centropolis Baptist Church. He enjoyed his membership in the Garnett Saddle Club and his volunteer work for the Compeer Program of Franklin County Mental Health. Donnie was a kind, caring man who deeply loved his family, and truly enjoyed doing for others. He had a strong faith, loved the word of God, believed in it and tried to live his life accordingly. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding horses, fishing, hunting and remodeling houses. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. On June 4, 1977, Donal was united in marriage with Jacqueline J. Carpenter in Garnett, Kansas. They celebrated twenty-nine wonderful years. She survives of their home. He is also survived by his stepmother, Tomi Beddo of Mesquite, Nevada; son and daughter-in-law, Donal Lee and Susan M. Beddo of Princeton; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie J. and Matthew B. Mader of Ottawa; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Leon Hermreck of Garnett, Dana and David Hardman of Garnett, Dawn and Darin Leadbetter of Ottawa; brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Shea Beddo of Harrisonville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Kelley Hennessey and her husband, Bob, of Richmond, Kathy Ashburn of Ottawa; and grandparents, Cleo Couch of Garnett and Vi Carpenter of Missouri. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, mother, and grandparents, Bill Hines, and D. L. and Bertha Beddo. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2006. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Beddo at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 5:00 p.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
