Don C. Bloomer

Don C. Bloomer, 78, of Rantoul, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014, at Wellsville Retirement Community. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 15, 2014, at Ottawa Bible Church. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Don was born Saturday, September 21, 1935, in Rantoul, Kansas, the son of Carl and Verdie (Tucker) Bloomer. He was a lifelong Rantoul resident. He graduated from Rantoul High School with the class of 1953. Don was united in marriage with Bessie Froggatte July 31, 1960, in Rantoul. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his two children, Brian Bloomer and wife Kelly of Rantoul, and Julie Ryssemus and husband Randy of Cookeville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Jessica Brown and husband Shawn of Nashville, Tennessee, Aaron Ryssemus and wife Amanda of Santa Barbara, California, Danielle Nelson and husband Jeppe of Bloomington, Illinois, Jenna Bloomer of Leavenworth, Kansas; and Jamison Bloomer of San Antonio, Texas; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, June Bloomer Orr. He was the owner-operator of Bloomer Well Service working in oil service and production for fifty years. Don served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 stationed in Hawaii. Don attended Ottawa Bible Church and enjoyed his Sunday school class and the friends he made. He was a hard worker who enjoyed his work, as well as working with cattle. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who supported and loved his family throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of his family and friends forever.
