Don A. Miller, age 51 of Pomona, Kansas, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center. He was born on Tuesday, January 9, 1962 in Kalispell, Montana, the son of Donald and Betty Lou (Bonnett) Salo. Don has lived in Franklin County since 1986 moving here from Montana. In 2005 the family moved to Grantsville, Utah returning to Pomona in 2012. On February 14, 1988 Don was united in marriage to Penny Renee Kennard in Pomona, Kansas. She survives of the home. Don was a lifelong diesel mechanic currently working for TA Beto Junction; was previously employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Ottawa; and later transferred to Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Grantsville Utah. Don also worked at R G Construction, Pomona; and Penny Ready Mix in Ottawa and Topeka. He loved spending time with his horses. Don served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Don is survived by his wife, Penny Miller of the home; four daughters, Crystal Voltz of South Dakota, Desirae Davis of Pomona, Cheyenne Miller and Shantel Miller of the home; mother, Betty Hill of Baker, Montana; four sisters, Debbie Hark of Eureka, Montana, Jody Jeude of Kila, Montana, Nita Bondell of Baker, Montana, and Leida Swarts of Baker, Montana; grandchildren, Bailee and Mikaylea Davis and two unborn grandchildren due later in 2013. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Salo and step-father, Martin Rosco Miller. SERVICES: Cremation is planned. Private services will be held.
