Dolores Post

Dolores Priscilla Post (formerly Williamson), aged 89, of Osawatomie, KS passed away at Life Care Center of Osawatomie on May 4, 2022. Gathering will be at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 AM, followed by a processional to Lane Cemetery, Lane, KS for a graveside service at 11:30 AM. Dolores was born May 7, 1932 in Osawatomie to Marion and Frederica (Bleisner) Williamson. She grew up in Osawatomie and graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1950. Her mother was a librarian at Osawatomie Public Library for many years, and her father worked for Missouri-Pacific railroad. Dolores was the oldest of three daughters. One sister, Virginia Harms, of Newton, KS survives her. Her youngest sister, Beverly Haas, is deceased. Following high school, Dolores worked at Osawatomie State Hospital as a nurses’ aide. She briefly worked and attended nursing school at Pueblo State Hospital in Colorado. She married Glen Post (d. 2008) of Mapleton, KS, in 1956 in Osawatomie. They lived in Osawatomie for 3 years, then Lane until 1979. They then moved back to Osawatomie, where they remained until death. Dolores worked most of her life as a homemaker and mother. After her children were grown, she returned to work as a nurses aide and Certified Medication Aide at Osawatomie State Hospital and nursing homes in Osawatomie and Paola. Dolores is survived by her sister Virginia and 4 children: Timothy, Lawrence, KS; Michelle, Kristopher, and Darrell, Osawatomie. Another son, Dennis, is deceased. She has one grandson, Justin, who lives in LaCygne with his wife and two children (Trinity, 9 and Weylyn, 6).
