Lorrene "Dollie" Ellen Cook, age 80, of rural Osawatomie, Kansas, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at her home. Dollie was born September 19, 1931 in Rawlins, Wyoming. She was the oldest of three daughters born to Earl and Leva (Brown) Howard. Dollie graduated from high school in Rawlins, Wyoming and then earned her associates degree in Sidney, Nebraska. She worked as an administrative assistant for Preston Refrigeration, Kansas City, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Albert Cook at the Stony Point South Church in Kansas City, Kansas. They made their home in Kansas City, Kansas until moving to rural Osawatomie in 1991. Dollie had many hobbies. She was very artistic in painting, cross stitching, and crocheting. She also loved to go shopping. She had established quite a collection of antique perfume bottles, teapots, giraffes and frogs over the years. Dollie could never be easily forgotten once you met her, she was always happy and friendly, even to strangers. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Mickie Grier and Freddie Lacy. She is survived by her husband Al of the home; two daughters Linnie (Ike) Isenburg of Lenexa and Laurie (Kenny) Bade of Overland Park; her son Dave (Donna) Smreker of Osawatomie; five grandchildren Sara, Laura, Courtney, Ryan, and Chris; 5 great grandchildren Mason, Luke, Grant, Wyatt, and Annique; other relatives and a host of friends.
