Diane Marie Mathia

Diane Marie Mathia, age 62, of Paola, passed away December 31, 2017 at Olathe Medical Center. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Glenn Raymond and Ethel Corine Chance. She grew up in Bonner Springs. On August 19, 1978, she was united in marriage to Randy Mathia at Bonner Springs; they moved to Paola in 1992. Diane was a Home Healthcare Specialist for many years retiring due to health reasons. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who were the love of her life along with her fur babies (pets). Diane enjoyed traveling with her husband, going to estate and garage sales, spending time cooking, canning with the fresh vegetables from her garden, enjoyed playing games on social media and would visit with friends and family. She seemed to be very lucky at local casinos which she enjoyed. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Beverly Bryant. Diane is survived by her husband, Randy Mathia of the home; children Royce (Tabitha) Elliott of Jacksonville, TX, Tammy (Lawrence) Pollard of Kansas City, MO, Randy (Jennifer Fannan) Mathia, Jr. of Paola, KS, Christina (Robbie) Folsom of Paola, KS, and Jana (Tom) Anderson of Baldwin City, KS; sisters Glenna (Wayne) Florence and Geraldine (Calvin) Thompson; grandchildren Hailee, Aubrey, Braiden, Jacob, Derrick, Cody, Triston, Jason, Logan, Sierra, Lane, Haley; one special great grandson Kingston and one great grandchild arriving in July. Following the visitation you are welcome to come to the Paola Senior Citizen Center for a meal at 121 W. Wea. In lieu of flowers,donations may be made to Mathia memorial c/o Randy Mathia.
