Devon Lee Rice, age10, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Devon was born Friday, December 3, 2004, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Danielle Towle. A lifelong resident, Devon made his home in Ottawa. Devon completed the 4th grade at Eugene Field Grade School. He was an energetic, outgoing little boy, who loved his sister and being outdoors playing with his fire trucks and cars, and enjoyed the Demo Derby. He will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who survive him, including his mother, Danielle Towle and stepfather, Michael Bass of Ottawa; sister, Hailey Dunlap of the home; three stepbrothers, Chevy, Chase and Benton Bass of the home; maternal grandparents, Ginger Coughenour and husband Rick of Wellsville; paternal grandmother, Hazel Rice of Kansas; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other grandparents and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jaxson Bass. The family suggests memorial contributions to Devon Lee Rice Memorial Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
