Dennis James Fredricks, 56, Ottawa, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010. He was born Aug. 4, 1953, in Ottawa to James Milan and Dorothy E. (Mitchell) Fredricks. He was a lifelong resident of Ottawa. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1971. He was a welder. He worked for Haven Steel and the past 35 years for Ottawa Truck, now known as Kalmar Industries, both of Ottawa. He served in the United States Air Force as a sargent. He was a member of Warren Black Post #60, American Legion of Ottawa. He married Kathy Kraus May 13, 1978, in Ottawa. They were later divorced. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy E. (Mitchell) Fredricks, Ottawa, a daughter, Amber Fredricks, Ottawa, a sister, Connie Jacobs, Ottawa, a brother, Gary Fredricks and his wife, Marie, Fountain Hills, Ariz., and a granddaughter, Remington James, Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his father, James Milan Fredricks. Family will meet with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa.
