Dennis Floyd Barnes, 65, of Louisburg, KS died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at his home. He was born September 29, 1947 in Independence, KS, the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (White) Barnes. He was united in marriage to Vicki Bendure on August 8, 1981 in Parsons, KS. Dennis worked for Wal-Mart for 16 years before retiring. Prior to that, he had worked as a police officer in Independence, KS and for Mass Merchandisers. He served in the United States Marines from 1967 thru 1972, during the Vietnam War. Dennis always said "Once a Marine always a Marine". He was a member of the praise band at First Baptist Church and preformed in the church"s Passion Play every Easter. He loved music, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He really enjoyed a good dinner with his family, church family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Barnes, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Duane Ray, Cleveland, MO; 4 grandchildren, Lacey, Devon, Dalton and Logan and his parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Barnes, Coffeyville, KS.
