Debra "Debbie" Louise Thompson

Debra “Debbie” Louise Thompson, age 65, of Louisburg, Kansas, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 19, 2024, at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church, 840 N Metcalf Rd, Louisburg, Kansas 66053. Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am, also at the church.

Debbie was born on Wednesday, April 16, 1958, in Olathe, Kansas, to Howard and Catherine (Lank) Smotherman. She grew up and spent most of her life living in Louisburg. Debbie was a member of the Louisburg High School class of 1976.

She was the proud mother of four children, Angela, Nicholas, Christine, and Erica.

Debbie worked as a teller for Peoples Bank in Louisburg for many years. She later worked as a teacher for Granny’s Schoolhouse. In her later years, Debbie worked part time at Local Brew.

She was an avid traveler, especially to the beach. Debbie enjoyed her trips to Galveston, Texas, to relax in the sand. She was an avid crafter, she enjoyed making wreaths, blankets, or any craft she found online. Debbie was a strong woman of faith, and was an active member of Faith Chapel in Louisburg for many years. She also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Debbie loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all. She could be found at all of their sporting and other events. Her grandkids held a special place in her heart.

Debbie is preceded in death by one sister, Melanie Coffey.

She is survived by her four children, Angela Brewer, of Kansas City, Missouri, Nicholas Miles, of Raymore, Missouri, Christine (David) Miller, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Erica (Brandon) Levrier, of Louisburg, Kansas; parents, Howard Smotherman and Catherine Green; two sisters, Margaret Coffey and Brenda McKiearnan; as well as 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and close friends.
