Deborah Olson

Deborah A. Olson, age 48, of Paola, KS, formerly of Cavalier, ND, passed away Nov. 30 at her home. Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 4th, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Paola; visitation Thursday at the Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., burial Paola Cemetery, memorials may be made to the Olson Memorial Fund. Deborah was born July 25, 1961 in Olathe, Kansas to Gerald and Mary Lou Knight White. She graduated from Paola High School in 1980, and received her Associates degree from Allen County Community Jr. College in 1982. She married Carl Lee Olson on June 15th, 1985 in Shawnee, Kansas. Debbie was well known for her infectious smile, her laugh and her great hugs. She was the consummate pastor"s wife and was always seeking to encourage others through prayer, cards, smiles and hugs. Her employment included working at Whites Auto Parts Store, Mast Advertising, Higher Education Assistant Foundation, Cavalier Credit Union, and the First Baptist Church of Paola. Debbie"s most important job was being a wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed crafts, making fleece blankets, playing board games with family, and especially going to the North Shore of Lake Superior and camping with her family. Her mother, Mary Lou White precedes her in death. Surviving are her husband, Pastor Carl Olson; a son, Jonathan Carl Olson both of Paola; son, Richard Gerald Olson of St. Paul, MN; her father, Gerald White of Paola; grandmother, Gracie Cramer of Paola; three aunts, one uncle and a host of friends.
