Deborah D. “Debbie” Brockus, 65, of Richmond, Kansas passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center. A memorial visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, July 2, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Debbie was born November 26, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Owen Carey and Thelma Louise (Comer) Chambers. She lived in south Kansas City moving in 1976 to Princeton, and Richmond in 1986. She graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Debbie was united in marriage to Christopher Brockus June 22, 1974 in Independence, Missouri. Survivors include her husband, Christopher Brockus of the home; three children, Erin Marsh and husband Brian of Lawrence, Shannon McAdam and husband Nathan of Richmond, and Dustin Brockus and wife Halee of Spring Hill; and six grandchildren, Peyton Brockus, Jaxson McAdam, Morgan Marsh, Abby Marsh, Dalton Brockus and soon to be born, Brooks Brockus. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jeanne Cervantes. Debbie was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed reading, writing, painting, drawing, crafts and sewing. Debbie also loved nature. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ottawa Public Library c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
