Debora Kim Wooge-Coates

Debora Kim 'Debie' Wooge-Coates was born on Wednesday, October 9, 1963, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Norman L. and Karen L. (Bellanti) Wooge. Debie lived in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, most of her life. She lived in other locations, returning to Ottawa in 1997, until moving to Rosemont, Kansas in February of 2007, where she made her home until her death on Monday, April 23, 2007, at the age of forty-three years. Debie graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1982 and attended Kansas University, Emporia State University and Johnson County Community College, where she obtained an Associates of Science Degree and became a paralegal. She was employed the last two years at Garmin International in Olathe as an Export Administrator, until she became unable to work due to her cancer. Debie was a member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano. She achieved recognition for Who's Who in American Junior Colleges and Who's Who in the Professional Executives. She enjoyed coin collecting, stamp collecting and had a small Precious Moments collection. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her extended family, the Hornes. With her best friend, Jeanine, Debie traveled to Hawaii, Friday Harbor, Nova Scotia, throughout Canada and Maine and to Memphis, to see Graceland, Beale Street and the Heartbreak Hotel. Both avid photographers, many photos were taken and many memories were made on these trips. She is survived by her parents of Ottawa; son, Brandon Scott Coates of Ottawa; two brothers, David Wooge and his wife, Stephanie, of Pomona, and Daniel Wooge of Osage City; and three nieces, Katie and Erin Wooge of Pomona, and Cadence Wooge of Osage City, all of Kansas. She is also survived by her special friend, Jeanine Cameron of Melvern, who helped her live the last six years of her life to the fullest. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hattie Porterfield, Herman Wooge, Vena Bellanti, Louis Bellanti; and uncle, Donald Wooge. SERVICES: Graveside services will be at Pleasantview Cemetery in Agricola, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2007. CEMETERY: Pleasantview Cemetery in Agricola, Kansas.
