Deanna Rae Diamond, 79, of Princeton, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at Olathe Hospice House, Olathe, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas.
Family will greet friends 5:30-7:30 pm., Friday, March 22, 2024, also at the funeral home.
Interment Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas.
Deanna was born Sunday, June 25, 1944, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of George and Lois (Ball) Barber.
She was a lifelong Franklin County resident attending Princeton High School, Princeton, Kansas.
Deanna was united in marriage in Princeton, Kansas, in 1961, to Gerald Holmes, they later divorced. She was united in marriage in Rantoul, Kansas, in 1972, to David Diamond, they later divorced.
She was employed with Ottawa USD #290 and Central Heights USD #288 holding various administrative positions since the mid-1970s. Deanna also worked at Franklin Savings in the mail room from 1988 until mid to late 1993.
Deanna was a member of Grace Community Fellowship in Ottawa, a former member of the Ruhamah Baptist Church, and a member of the Power of the Past Antique Engine and Tractor Club.
She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and gardening. Deanna loved attending family gatherings and her grandchildren’s events and activities.
Deanna was preceded in death by fiancé Lonnie Crable; parents George and Lois; sister Sharon Barber; daughter Karlena Branson; grandson Aaron Gould; granddaughter Mandy Rae Diamond; and great grandbaby Spielman.
Survivors include son Timothy Diamond (Shelly) of Ottawa, Kansas; daughters Lori Gould (Ron) of Windsor, Colorado, Wendy Hamilton (Dan) of Ottawa, Kansas, and Ginger Markley (Chad) of Rantoul, Kansas; sister Donna Lea Ferguson of Ottawa, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Olathe Hospice House c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
