Deanie M. (Stanford) Duncan, age 78, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Ottawa Retirement Village. She was born on Sunday, June 4, 1933, in Savonburg, Kansas, the daughter of William J. and Cleona Bell (Adams) Stanford. She was born and raised in Allen County, Kansas. From 1973 to 1985, she lived in Freeport, Texas, moving to Birmingham, Alabama, then Newton, Kansas, moving to Ottawa in 2007. Deanie attended schools in Allen County. She worked as a security officer for the Birmingham, Alabama Civic Center for fifteen years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of the Eagles, Elks, and Redman organizations. She is survived by her: Son-Don Farnsworth, Jr. of Little Elm, Texas Son-Richard Burris of Iola, Kansas Daughter-Susan Bauer of Orlando, Florida Sister-Cleta Ewing of Ottawa, Kansas Sister-Lillian Franklin of Iola, Kansas Sister-Dorothy Morrison of McCune, Kansas Sister-Karon Tullo of Bella Vista, Arkansas Sister-Jo Ann Smith of Lake Jackson, Texas Brother-Johnny Stanford of Newton, Kansas Brother-Dale Stanford of Thayer, Missouri Brother-Mike Stanford of Iola, Kansas Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren Many nieces, nephews & friends She is preceded in death by her: Parents-William J. and Cleona Bell Stanford Infant Son Son-Thomas Farnsworth Daughter-Cheryl Rosenbaugh Brother-Billy Stanford Brother-Bob Stanford Sister-Francis Ewing Sister-Betty Stanford Memorial Services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012. Family will meet with friends at 9:00 a.m. Thursday prior to services. Cremation is planned. Inurnment Services will be at 2:00 Thursday afternoon at Fairview Cemetery in Mildred, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to American Red Cross and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #0912, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
