David K. Rawlings, age 51, of Belton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. (Cremation) Memorial Service 2:00PM Bethlehem Church 310 S. Johnston Parkway, Raymore, MO.. David was born December 21, 1956 in Paola, Kansas to Arthur Rawlings, Jr. and Ernestine Macklin Rawlings. He moved with his family from Paola at the age of 4 to Centralia, Missouri. He graduated in 1976 from Centralia High School and attended Moberly Area Junior College. David was active in high school sports and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He was baptized into the Christian Faith at First Lutheran Church of Paola, Kansas on February 10, 1957. He was confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Centralia, Missouri on May 2, 1971. He lived in California and Washington state before moving back to the area. On October 11, 1991 he was united in marriage to Julie Moore and they made their home in Belton, Missouri. David worked in the lumber business in Centralia, Columbia, and Kansas City for many years. He was a lifelong member of the MKT Model Railroad Association. David was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Timothy K. Rawlings. Survivors are his wife, Julie Moore Rawlings of the home, mother Ernestine Rawlings Ramsey and step father Edgar J. Ramsey of Centralia, Missouri, sister-in-law Palmyra Rawlings of Centralia, Missouri, brother-in-law Wesley and Janet Moore of Union Star, Missouri, and step-brother Mark A. Ramsey of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Memorials are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 58 Highway & Johnston Parkway, Raymore MO 64083 or to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
