David Johns Jr., 48, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 with his family by his side after a battle with cancer.
He was born April 27, 1975, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of David Johns Sr. and Debra (Pearce) Johns.
He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1994.
David worked multiple jobs throughout his career as a truck driver. His latest was with JB Hunt Trucking for the last seven years. He also worked for Taylor Oil and Ottawa Coop.
He was hands down the best Papa around! He enjoyed spoiling not only his grandbabies, but his children as well. He treasured his time with his family and will be greatly missed.
David will be remembered for his sense of humor; “you brat!” and his love for Harley Davidson and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Being outdoors is something he enjoyed. Being by the fire listening to some old country and rock. If he wasn’t with family or outside, you could find him tinkering in the garage.
David married Danielle on March 11, 2011.
Survivors include his wife Danielle Johns; five children, David Johns lll (Hannah), Brittany Lofing (Seth), Cloey Johns, Dakota Johns, Brianna Johns and a bonus daughter Cheyenne Hamic(Jacob); seven grandchildren, Cooper and Rhett Lofing, baby Johns (coming soon), Noah and Beck Rubick and Ava and Reece Hamic; mother Debra (Pearce) Johns; father David Johns Sr. and wife Mary Johns; siblings, Constance (Johns) Blackwell (Travis), Micheal Johns, Danielle Johns, Ashley Renshaw, Nicole Holzer, Randy Holzer, Angel Camp, and Tonya Jones plus one very best friend of 30 years and brother Brit Peters and family.
