Dave Troxel

David W. Troxel, age 70, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 1, 1951 to Dennie D. and Marjorie E. (Shipley) Troxel in Ottawa, Kansas. He grew up in Osawatomie and attended schools there and graduated with the Class of 1969. He then attended two years of vocation school at Pittsburg, Kansas graduating in 1971 and working a short time in Kansas City. He worked in his father's mechanic shop for a couple years. He worked in the City of Osawatomie Power Plant from 1975 to 1977 and then Osawatomie State Hospital, retiring in 2005 due to medical reasons. He met the love of his life, Sheryl A. Ostrander in 1973. They made their home in Osawatomie and became the parents of four children Robert, Chris, Jay, and Ashley. He absolutely hated to be called David. He always wanted to be called Dave. He loved to go fishing, plant garden, and keep the yard mowed. He also loved to decorate the house for the holidays but his favorite thing was going shopping and spending time with the love of his life. There was a special bond between Dave and Sheryl. He asked Sheryl to marry him on their first date and the rest is history. He was preceded in death by his wife Sheryl, sons Robert and Jason "Jay", father Dennie, mother Marjorie, and brother Kelly. He is survived by his son Chris (Jessica); his daughter Ashley; 6 grandchildren Colby, Carsten, Callum, Moxon, Jaxson, and Braxton; many other relatives and friends.
