Darrell L. Sieg

Darrell Sieg, 77, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Ransom Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. The family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M., Friday, April 19, 2019, at the mortuary. Interment at Peoria Cemetery, Peoria, Kansas Darrell was born November 26, 1941, in Hill City, Kansas, the son of Earlston A and Viola M. (Sweet) Sieg. He lived in Baldwin City for 19 years, moving to Ottawa in 1995. Darrell graduated from Baldwin City High School with the class of 1960. He was united in marriage to Jill Lowrance May 31, 1973, in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Survivors include four daughters, Jennifer Sieg and husband Matt Smith of Mansfield, Texas, Amanda Sieg and husband John Hildebrandt of Ottawa, Lyndi Wilson and husband Michael of Ottawa, and Darla Sieg of Lawrence; brother, David L. Sieg of Hutchinson, Kansas; four grandchildren, Olivia Cox, Isaiah Cox, Violet Smith and Ruby Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earlston A. and Viola M. Sieg and brother, Harland Sieg. Darrell was a supervisor at E&E Specialties in Lawrence, Kansas working for 45 years until his retirement in 2003. Darrell enjoyed working on cars, fishing, boating and hunting. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.
