Darrell Harrington

Darrell Dean Harrington, 70, of Paola, Kansas passed away November 2, 2012 at his daughter"s home in Fontana, Kansas. Darrell was born on July 13, 1942 in Kansas City Kansas to Dee Walter and Ethel Ailene Myers Harrington. He was raised in the Kansas City area and on August 3, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lela Madine Downen in Miami, Oklahoma. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 35 years. During that time he worked with McAnany Construction, Max Reikes, and Reno. He belonged to Operating Engineers Local 101 Union. Darrell"s hobbies included farming, fishing, and restoring antique cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darrell was preceded in death by his wife Madine; parents; sisters Imajean Spurlock and Deloris Faye Harrington; and brother Richard Harrington. He is survived by daughters Sharon Martin of Gainesville, FL, Carmen Behm of Fontana, KS, and Karen Bing of Gardner, KS; son Darren Harrington of Osawatomie, KS; eleven grandchildren Joshua Laningham of Grandview, MO, Jennifer Trout of Jacksonville, FL, Shane Harrington of Overland Park, KS, Lyndsay Harrington of Paola, KS, Seth Harrington of Springhill, KS, Pamela Johnston of Amoret, MO, Kari, Samantha, and Hannah Behm of Fontana, KS, Cody and Cord Bing of Gardner, KS; six great grandchildren; brothers James Harrington of Holt, MO, Gilbert Harrington of Merriam, KS, and Allen Harrington of Edwardsville, KS; and sister Sandra Foland of Osawatomie, KS.
