Darlene L. Reichard, 78, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Olathe Hospice House. Family will meet with friends from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Private family interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Franklin County. Darlene was born June 21, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Rachel (Kohl) Retzlaff. She was raised in Valley Center, Kansas, moving in 1958 to Franklin County. She graduated from Valley Center High School and attended Kansas State University. Darlene was united in marriage to Doyle W. Reichard March 16, 1958, in Benton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Dave W. son, Daryl D. Reichard; daughter-in-law, Lori Reichard; and sister, Ernestine Fuller and husband Deon. Survivors include her three sons, Davin Reichard and wife Betsy of Fort Scott, Darin Reichard and wife Melissa of Springfield, Missouri, and Duane Reichard of Rantoul; daughter-in-law, Erlinda Reichard of Nevada, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Darlene was a devoted lifelong homemaker and helped Doyle on the farm while raising a family. She was a member of the Homewood Community Bible Church. She loved gardening, flowers, bird watching, and going to the Williamsburg Community Library. Darlene was an avid reader of the Bible and books.
