Danny Ray Callahan

Danny Ray Callahan, 70, of Ottawa, Kansas passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 6, 2013. Family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Danny was born on Saturday, March 27, 1943 in Tuckerman, Arkansas. He was the son of Earnest and Ella (Meyer) Callahan. He has been a resident of Ottawa since 1966 moving from Tuckerman, Arkansas. Danny was united in marriage with Delpha Stecher on May 24, 1968. Survivors include his three grandchildren, Paige Knight and husband Devin, Clint Spears, and Colby Likes all of Ottawa; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Mackenzie Knight; three sisters, Ina McReynolds of La Cygne, Kansas, Vicki Reeves and husband Harry of Lebanon, Missouri, and Carrie Ledom and husband Mike of Girard, Kansas; three brothers, Leon Callahan and wife Pearl of La Cygne, Roger Callahan of La Cygne, and Jerry Callahan and wife Alice of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Likes; and two sisters, Barbara Trull and Mary Alice Curtis. Danny worked for Heathman Oil Company in the 1970’s as a station attendant, Commodore Homes in the 1980’s in production, and Ottawa Tire in the 1990’s as a shop technician.
