Dalton James Riemer

Dalton James Riemer, 26, passed away on April 11, 2025, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Born on December 4, 1998, the son of Thomas “Tom” and Katherine “Katie” (Oestreicher) Riemer.

He was a life-long resident of Ottawa and Franklin County, where he made lasting memories with family and friends. Dalton brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

Dalton had a strong commitment to his education, having graduated from Central Heights High School in 2017 and later earning his Level 1 & 2 welding certificates from Neosho County Community College in 2019.  One of Dalton's proudest moments was receiving the Ford Tough scholarship, and having his dad present it to him.  His dedication to learning and growing will be remembered by all who knew him.

Dalton was an enthusiastic individual with a multitude of interests. He found joy in fishing especially with his Mama, cooking, coming up with is own new recipes, enjoying the beauty of nature while spending time outdoors and gardening with his grandpa and uncle. His love for welding and building anything outside was evident, showcasing his creativity and resourcefulness. Dalton cherished moments on the farm, often finding fulfillment in helping people and being surrounded by family. He enjoyed watching and attending basketball, especially games with his sister at Bramlage Coliseum, football, and sporting KC games. His favorite teams being K-State, Chiefs, and Broncos. He loved animals, especially Sasha, with whom he played and created countless memories.

Dalton was particularly proud of his involvement in the Future Farmers of America (FFA), where he took great pride in his contributions and the connections he made. His warm spirit touched many lives, and his kindness will be deeply missed.

Dalton was preceded in death by his grandfather Jim Oestreicher Jr.; his uncle Marty Oestreicher; and grandparents Gary and Waunita Riemer.

He leaves behind a loving family that includes his parents; sister Hailee Riemer; grandmother, Barbara Richards of Ottawa; aunt Connie Guilfoyle (Curt) of Richmond; uncle Steve Oestreicher (Suzan) of Richmond; uncle Chancy Riemer (Marissa) of Ottawa; aunt Missy Riemer (Melissa) of Princeton; and many beloved cousins who held him dear.

Dalton's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be remembered fondly for his vibrant personality and caring nature.

Vigil for the deceased with rosary will be held at 6:00pm, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Richmond.

Interment St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio.
