Dale was born in Taney County, Mo 1941 to Oscar W. and Mildred L. (Stolpe) Wilson. He married Margaret A. Anderson on January 7,1961 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Olathe, KS. They lived in Southern Missouri a few years before they moved back to Johnson Co. then Miami Co. areas. Dale found work at The Saddle and Sirloin Stables where he enjoyed working with horses and the American Royal. He eventually started working construction and working at a quarter horse racing stable. Dale and Margaret ended up starting their own construction company – Wilson Construction, where most people would see just a stack of lumber Dale had the vision to make dreams come true. He loved a challenge and always glad to have the opportunity to create. They raised five children and moved to their farm in Louisburg and started D-Bit-W racing stables, where Dale enjoyed being with his family and friends and of course the horses. Always willing to help out someone down on their luck, with a job or place to live. We have never heard him speak ill of anyone. His passing, in light of what’s happening to our culture, seems to be the end of an era. Margaret passed away in 1985 and Dale soon moved his farm farther south and eventually suffered a stroke in August 2004 forcing him to retire and sell his farm. He moved to stay with his daughter Ann and her family in Colorado Springs working on his rehabilitation and eventually back to Louisburg to live on his own with the help of family and friends. Dale enjoyed traveling to visit family and spending time with all his grand and great grandchildren. He excelled at his equine therapy with Horizon Ranch and all their encouragement helped him regain his confidence and was awarded rider of the year in 2016. He always seemed happiest when he was back in the saddle again. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darryl Wilson, sister Ruth Flores, and his wife Margaret and grandsons, Thomas J. Derr and Brandon Ross. Dale is survived by his five children and their families.
