Dale Eugene Rumans, 74, of Paola, passed away on November 16, 2023, at his home.
He was born on September 4, 1949, the son of Earl and Dorothy (Owens) Rumans in Ottawa, Kansas.
Dale graduated from Paseo High School in 1967. Immediately after high school he joined the United States Marine Corps. He was just 17 when he enlisted. He was a Vietnamese interpreter during the Vietnam War and was there during the Tet Offensive. Dale picked up on foreign language fast, even teaching himself how to speak Spanish.
On January 29, 1971, he married the love of his life, Francia. They made Miami County their home and together raised 4 children.
Dale worked construction after the military. He was a superintendent for Triangle Builders and built aquatic centers for both Paola and Louisburg.
He was an avid fisherman and a wonderful cook.
He preceded by his parents, his older brother, William Rumans, and infant son.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Francia, of the home; daughters, Jennifer McCoach (Kevin) of Harker Heights, Texas, Jessica Miley (Josh) of Beagle, Kansas, Julie Rumans (Brock Masterson) of Fort Collins, Colorado; son, Jeffrey Rumans (Amanda) of Marrieta, California; sister, Sheryl Balentine (Randy) of Kansas City, MO; brother, Roger Rumans (Marcia) of Grandview, MO; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.
