Family and friends of D. Lance Hart, age 57, of Rockford, Illinois, who died Friday, April 11, 2008, at his home, will meet at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday, April 19, 2008, for a family visitation and then process to Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas for Graveside services at 11:00 AM. Mr. Hart was born August 13, 1950, in Ottawa, Kansas. He was the son of Eugene and Elizabeth (Wilhite) Hart. He was a Rockford, Illinois resident since 1966. Lance received his agricultural economics degree from Kansas State University. He farmed and then worked in agricultural sales for over 25 years, working most recently at Woods Equipment Co., Oregon, Illinois, for 13 years. He was a member of First Evangelical Free Church. As an active member, he sang in the Church choir, was president of the choir for two years, participated in Harmony Adult Community, New Beginnings, Divorce Recovery and Singles Missions to South Africa. Survivors include his son, Jarod Hart of Chicago; daughters, Jenelle Hart of Melbourne, Australia; Jennifer Harris of Columbus, OH; grandchild, Chloe Harris; father, Eugene Hart of Pomona, KS and brother, Fred Hart of Williamsburg, KS. He is preceded in death by his mother. The family suggests memorial contributions to Music Ministries of First Evangelical Free Church, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
