Cynthia "Cindy" Mae Connor, a devoted wife, mother, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 14, 1954, in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of, Mike and Doris Mae (Delich) Kolich. Cindy's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family and her profession.
Cindy graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1972. Cindy furthered her education by briefly attending Kansas City Kansas Community College before receiving her associate's degree in nursing from the Area Vocational Technical School in the 1990s. This educational journey allowed her to provide care to those in need. Her education set the stage for a career that would embody her caring nature and commitment to helping others. She began her professional life as a receptionist but pursued further education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Throughout her nursing career, she built a legacy of compassion and care, working tirelessly at various institutions, including Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City for 22 years, then at Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park and Advent Health in Shawnee Mission. Cindy retired in 2021, leaving behind a profound impact on her patients and colleagues alike.
On November 9, 1985, Cindy was united in marriage with Dennis Connor in Kansas City, Kansas. Together, they nurtured a loving household filled with laughter and joy. Cindy was the proud mother to two daughters, Jennifer and Kathleen "Katie" Connor, whom she treasured deeply.
Cindy's interests included sewing and arts and crafts, hobbies that brought her great joy and allowed her to express her creativity. She was well-known for her love of dogs, being the proud owner of many over the years, including her beloved pets Sally and Millie. Her connection to animals mirrored her nurturing spirit, and she shared this affection with those around her.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Michael Kolich. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Dennis, and her cherished daughters, Jennifer and Kathleen Connor.
As we remember Cindy Connor, we celebrate a life woven with love, compassion, and dedication. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her legacy will undoubtedly live on through her family and the countless lives she touched throughout her career and personal life.
