Cora Minden

Cora Marie Minden age 89 of Olathe formally of Paola died Feb. 17, at the Olathe Medical Center. Funeral Services will be Thursday Feb. 21, at 1:00 PM visitation 12 to 1:00PM at the Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel 305 N. Pearl Paola KS. Memorials to the Paola Senior Citizen. Cora was born in Rural Miami County on March 26, 1918 to Lakie and Estella Walters Petrie. On October 8, 1939 she was united in marriage to Floyd Minden in the Block Trinity Lutheran Church. She and her husband lived in Oregon, California, and settled in Kansas where she helped with the farm, worked for Coast to Coast for many years while being a housewife and mother. She was a member of the 1st Lutheran Church of Paola, and enjoyed crochet, cross stitching, excellent seamstress, cooking, and traveling. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, and one brother. Surviving is her daughter, Janell Minden of Olathe, three grandsons, Del Hancock of Paola, Mel Hancock and wife Sonya, of Oklahoma, Nick Hancock and wife Katrina of Olathe, four sisters, Nora Willis of Oregon, Edna Blackstone, of California, Maxine Coffel of Oregon, Gloria Bird of Oregon, one brother, Lakie Petrie, of Pennsylvania, sister in law Pat Petrie and aunt, Margie Walters, and 5 great grandchildren.
