Connie N Butler, 65, of Osawatomie, Kansas, passed away on February 21, 2008 at the Life Care Center in Osawatomie, Kansas after a brief illness. The funeral services will be held at Penwell-Gabel Paola Chapel on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2pm. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 6-8pm. Connie was born on January 25, 1943 in Osawatomie, Kansas to Eugene R. and Margaret Evelyn (Carroll) O"Brian. She was the second child of three children. Connie was a life long resident of Osawatomie, Kansas. Connie graduated from Osawatomie High School in 1960. Connie raised five children, Phyllis Hahn, Brenda Bachman, Billy W. Butler, Sr, Patrick D. Butler and Annjanette Adlong. Connie was employed as a bus driver for Clyde Day Bus Service for 20 years other employment included working at Osawatomie State Hospital, Mary Lou"s Restaurant, Pat"s Place, Nu Way Cleaners and North Pointe. She was an active member of the Osawatomie V.F.W. Post #2258 and held many offices in the Auxiliary. After retiring she spent time attending her grandchildren"s activities and enjoying her great grandchildren. Her hobbies included collecting cows, doing puzzles, playing card, and watching her favorite actor John Wayne. Connie was preceded in death by her parents Eugene R. and Margaret Evelyn O"Brien, a brother Eugene J. (Sonny) O"Brien and one grandson Dwayne Mendle. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons Bill Butler of Osawatomie, and Pat Butler of LaCygne, three Daughters Phyllis Hahn of Osawatomie, Brenda Bachman of Osawatomie and Annjanette Adlong of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by a sister Deanna Kay (Kayt) Benedict of Osawatomie. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew, and nine great nieces and nephews. There are many other family and friends whom will dearly miss her. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association and the National cancer foundation.
