Colleen Webb, age 74 of Richmond, Kansas, died Thursday, January 17, 2010 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, KS. She was born on Sunday, November 17, 1935 in Nebraska, the daughter of Glen and Orgretta (Washburn) Bethune. She grew up in Lamar, Missouri and Iantha, Missouri. After high school she moved to Kansas City, Kansas, then later Independence, Missouri. In 1992 she moved to Richmond, Kansas Colleen graduated from Lamar High School in Lamar, Missouri with the class of 1953. She then graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was a registered nurse at Truman Medical Center, Independence, Missouri, for many years and then worked until her retirement at Ransom Memorial Hospital. In the fall of 1956, Colleen was united in marriage with Raymond George Garrett. He preceded her in death in 1958. In 1960 she married Dick Webb. They later divorced. She is survived by her: Daughter-Rita Higginbotham of Richmond, Kansas Step Son- Rick Webb of Independence, Missouri Sister-Carol Leihsing and her husband Tommy of Hartford, Kansas Sister-Marlene Greenfield of Blue Springs, Missouri Sister Margee Wilson of Parkville, Missouri Grandson-Jesse Garrett-Richmond, Kansas Great grandson-Zeke Garrett Great Grandson-Clayton Garrett Great Grandson-Krieg Garrett Great Granddaughter-Katie Garrett Many Nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by: Mother-Orgretta (Washburn) Bethune Father-Glen Bethune First husband-Raymond George Garrett SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010. IN STATE: Mrs. Webb will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorial contributions to Garrett Children Education Fund c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S. Hickory, Ottawa, Kansas 66067.
