Colleen Marie Barnett

Colleen Marie Barnett, 90, of Paola, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Dengel & Son Mortuary-Paola Chapel 305 N. Pearl St. Paola, KS 66071. Graveside services will follow on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Colleen was born January 30, 1934, the daughter of Roy and Nellie Ludwig. She was born and lived her entire life in Paola, KS. She attended school at Scott’s Valley Country School and graduated from Paola High School in 1951.

She married Harold Barnett on August 20, 1955. Colleen worked at the law firm of Nicholson and Miller. After many years as a homemaker and raising her children, she retuned to work at the USDA Ag Services office in Paola.

Colleen was preceded in death by her husband Harold, their oldest son Russell, her father and mother, Roy and Nellie.

Colleen is survived by her son Rolland and wife Barb of Paola, daughter Lisa Guenther and husband Lawrence of Stilwell, KS; five grandchildren Chet Barnett, Brett (Deanna) Barnett, Ben (Lauren) Guenther, Amelia Guenther, Jake Guenther, and three great-grandchildren Gage, Zach, and Lydiah Barnett.
